Aaron Tucker
Biography:

American Artist, Aaron Tucker, is a writer, actor, and painter. Tucker’s work encompasses a wide range of forms, and despite the abstract of their nature, they express puzzles and intrigue, all clues to his vivid imagination. In conversing with him, you sense an organic nature of tremendous creativity.

Tucker was born in San Antonio, Texas. At age 17, he toured the world as a magician with his family, whose history in magic and show business can be traced back four generations; he often draws inspiration from these memories. He talks about these years as an explorer going through the abyss and how the illusion of magic gave his mind tangibility.

As an artist, he engages himself in an imaginative leap of vision and encompasses cerebral concepts from psychology, philosophy, and science. All of his paintings capture the pulsation between the real and the surreal. It is Tucker’s father, Glenn Tucker, renowned San Antonio art critic, that he credits for the appreciation of fine art, not only from an intellectual perspective, but as an outsider without regard to the mainstream aesthetics.

Tucker considers himself an outsider artist; spontaneous without cultural pretension, pure and crude, often childish. He derives his inspiration from inner impulses and from his rebellious approach to life. As an atypical artist, he engages himself in an imaginative leap of vision, which encompasses cerebral concepts from psychology, philosophy, and science. All of Tucker’s paintings capture the pulsation between the real and the surreal. He is not seeking to be recognized, but strives to be in harmony with the tumultuous task of living. The Fifth Dimension exhibit conveys a visual interpretation of Tucker’s profound curiosity and vivid imagination. He expresses his true sensibilities in coded messages using abrupt, daring, and bold paint strokes to represent the randomness of life. It is on canvas that Tucker voices his freedom from the bondage of self.
